She is an attractive, intelligent actress who inspires numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. Her fame was boosted by numerous popular characters in television shows. The most notable was the Ally McBeal series, where she portrayed Ling Woo the villainous character. The actress took her initial popularity into big screen roles in films including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels.
