Lucy Liu, an American voice actress producer director and singer, is also an outstanding actor. She is an attractive, intelligent actress who inspires numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. Her fame was boosted by numerous popular characters in television shows. The most notable was the Ally McBeal series, where she portrayed Ling Woo the villainous character. The actress took her initial popularity into big screen roles in films including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave a superb performance in the role of Japanese criminal O'Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time she was a leading lady in flops of the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter were equally prominent. Then she began voicing famous characters from animated films such like Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any results. Southland's critically-acclaimed police drama, Southland and a recurring role helped Liu re-establish her status as a well-known actress. Liu takes great care in choosing her roles to ensure she doesn't get typecast. Although she is adamant about her heritage but it doesn't mean she has to be when it comes to her career as an artist.
